Mentre molti sistemi di batterie al piombo moderne hanno la progettazione piastra standard, cioè piastre a griglia elettrodo negativo e piastre a griglia elettrodo positive o blindatura sono avvolti con la rete cellulare Enersys Cyclon utilizzato come supporto dell'elettrodo. Di progettazione ferita un'enorme si stabilizzano, che permette l'uso del piombo puro come materiale griglia. Questo fatto nonché le tende sottili si distinguono dalle batterie piombo puro EnerSys.
